Post Jacob's Algebra Reply with quote
I was just looking through the Jacob's Algebra text and teachers manual and really like the way topics are presented. I did notice in the teacher's manual there are references to transparencies which are shown in the manual. These look like they would be useful in explaining concepts to the student. Is there any way we can get these on paper? Thanks.
God Bless!

Dear Janel,

Although we don't carry this supplement, one does exist. You can find it at WHFreeman's website. Specifically here.

Elementary Algebra Transparency Masters
ISBN-10: 0-716-71076-5
ISBN-13: 978-0-716-71076-9

Prices were not included on the website. You might try looking on amazon to see if there are any out there you could get. Your next route would be to go directly through the publisher. If they will not sell to home schoolers (this publisher has given us the run around before), just contact our bookstore and speak with Nancy Nelson. Let her know that this supplement exists, and that you tried to go through the publisher yourself first, but that you need her to special order this for you. Give her the ISBN number, the name of the item, author etc. Please use Nancy as a last resort, but we are happy to aid you in this if need be.

God bless,

I am also interested in the transparencies. I contacted the company and they actually have a Homeschool Representative. Awesome! This is what she sent to me. I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks for your call. I am the representative with the company in charge of homeschool parents and tutors.
I would be happy to provide you with any materials you may need. It’s our company policy, however, to verify your status as a homeschool instructor. We do this to make sure that students aren’t contacting us to get teacher’s materials for their own use. You can verify your status in a number of ways: depending on state statutes, we would accept a copy of a letter-of-intent to homeschool; we also accept membership cards to homeschool organizations like HSLDA. If you have any other way of verifying please let me know, we try to be as flexible and accommodating as possible.

We can send a letter of verification of your enrollment if needed, although HSLDA membership card is a great way (if you are not a membe,r you should be!)

I have already submitted my HSLDA card. I just wanted everyone else to know that this publisher has a homeschool contact in case they need anything. It is extremely encouraging to know that the homeschool movement has grown to the point that we have representation in publishing houses. If there is something we need and it is not available through Kolbe, we can contact the publisher directly. I plan on using this company's geometry text as well.
Have a blessed Christmas and a grace filled New Year.
