Our son, Alex, used Kolbe from 3rd grade through 11th grade. He decided to attend the local public high school for his Senior Year.
Alex was named a National Merit Finalist, and was also chosen as one of only 28 incoming freshman at Indiana University to be named a Cox Research Scholar. This scholarship covers all tuition, room and board, and most fees for a four-year undergraduate degree. The program also allows Alex to do academic research with a faculty mentor of his choosing and receive a monthly stipend.

We attribute a great deal of Alex's academic success to Kolbe's rigorous curriculum. It is also through the Kolbe program that Alex developed his great love of history and writing and was able to write several articles for the online version of the military history magazine Armchair General. For the IU scholarship, he simply had to submit a brief essay regarding why he would be interested in the research program. To be honest, he wrote this essay very quickly, without much thought. Clearly, Kolbe's emphasis on writing enabled him to succinctly and coherently describe his interest, and we were excited when he was chosen for this scholarship. So, all of the hard work does pay off!
