Quick End-of-Year Paperwork Question |
|
Do you prefer the original or the copy of the quarterly reports, work samples, etc.? Thanks!

Hi - I'm just a Mom but I have submitted many reports and I always send copies of the work samples & exams. You should keep the originals at least until you know Kolbe has verified your submission. It is good to make copies for everything really. For the actual paperwork, report cards, etc I make copies to keep for myself and send the hand written original to Kolbe. I don't believe there are any rules here. I just come from the school of thought that you should always make copies and keep a back-up and keep originals whenever possible.

I just finished high school with Kolbe, and what I usually did was put the original, graded tests and such in a manilla envelope (one for each quarter) along with the quarterly reporting sheet, each thing checked off as it was put in. Then, when everything was compiled, I scanned the entire collection to a PDF, printed a copy of that, and sent it to Kolbe. That way, Kolbe gets a copy, we had a paper copy, and there was an additional, computer backup. It seems to have worked just fine for Kolbe, and the manilla envelope with originals makes a nice portfolio.

Either is fine but if you are sending in samples that are "important" you may want to make copies. (ie I'd copy tests And papers but if you send in an inconsequential daily math sample then I prob wouldn't take the time to copy it).
