Instructions for joining the Public and Private forums

Welcome to Kolbe Academy's Forum. We hope that you will find the information and interactions on this Forum an asset to your Catholic home schooling experience.

The rules below are meant to keep the forum running as smoothly and as cleanly as possible. Any person that uses obscene or profane language will be banned from the forum. This means that their IP address will be blocked. Charity and common sense should be kept in mind when posting within a forum.

If you are not registered with Kolbe Academy, you are more than welcome to read and post to the "Kolbe Academy General Information" forums. You may also read, but not post to, the "General Home Schooling Advice" forums, as it is for the primary benefit of our registered families. However, we feel that these forums can give prospective families a feeling for how other families use the resources that Kolbe's program offers.

You can feel free to use an alias when registering for the forum, but we ask that all who would like to post to have their profile filled in. This is only to insure the integrity of the forums. Please do not post any truly personal information, just enough for those reading your post to understand your background.

To register for the public forum:

1. Click on "Register" above.

2. Choose an appropriate username.

3. Fill in your profile.

4. Click on Login above! You are ready to go.

To register for the private forum:

The Kolbe High School and Grade School Course Help Forums are available for use by our registered families only. If you are a registered family, please follow these steps to gain admission to these private forums.

1. Create a username by following the above directions for entering the public forums.

2. Send the administrator, kolbeadmin, a pm (private message) by clicking on the "PM" button below.

3. Within the pm, include the following information to confirm your status as a registered family.

a. The username that you have created for this forum (but NOT your password).
b. The first and last name under which your family is registered.
c. The city and state in which you reside.

3. We will confirm your registration status as quickly as possible. Once confirmed, the username that you have provided for us will have access to all of the private forums, and enable you to post to the "General Home Schooling Advice" forums.

If you run into any problems on one of the forums, send a pm to one of the moderators. The moderators are listed underneath each of the forum topic headings. We will do our best to catch anything before it becomes problematic, but your help with keeping the forums clean and charitable is appreciated.

If you are enrolled with Kolbe this year, don't forget to request access to the private course help boards. You may do so by sending a private message to the "kolbeadmin" or to me. Be sure to include your username for the forum, your real first and last name, and the city, state in which you reside. This will help us to verify your current enrollment with us. You are not automatically added the private forums, so you must request access from us in some way!
